A
message from L & T Entertainment, concerning Miss Gay Texas
America
…
As many are aware, we have authorized that Miss Gay Texas America, for the
current pageant season only, can convert to an Open State Pageant, that is,
whereby the 90 day residency requirement still applies, but contestants may
enter by completing the contestant application and paying the application fee of
$150.00 While we recognize that some contestants have already qualified for the
state contest and might be concerned, we ask for their understanding during
these very trying times for the promoters of Miss Gay Texas America (Michael
Lybarger and Richard Sehl). Contestants who have already qualified should be
grateful that they have sponsorship support and that they already have a
competition advantage, considering that they have already competed in a city
preliminary for this pageant season, therefore they have been subjected to
critique, from the judges to allow them to better know what they need to do to
win the very coveted state title.
We are fully aware that recent years of Miss
Gay Texas America has not been without controversy but we have made this
decision in attempt to assist the promoters, as there were several others
planned city preliminaries that were not able to be held, for various
circumstances.
We can assure all that this contest will
continue. We ask for your prayers and support to both Michael and Richard as
they go through some very rough personal issues. We thank all involved, for
their interest in the Miss Gay America pageant system and appreciate the support
to continue the exceptional legacy of Miss Gay Texas America.
Sincerely,
Larry Tyger and Terry Eason
